63_Another oil leak search

Yesterday I noticed a puddle (aprox 4" by 12") of oil, passenger side front, even with the wheel. A few hours earlier I had been out for a 45 minute run. I had been out on similar runs on Friday and Saturday, but no leak.
I checked the front of the intake manifold and it was dry. Neither the front of the pan nor the seal in the timing chain cover appeared to be the source. I started the car and let it run for about 5 minutes and looked for leaks, but found none. Several hours later there is no oil on the floor.
Any ideas?
I'm going to make another run and check it immediately after I get back in.

There are a few places that always seem to leak on chevy small blocks. By your discription of the location of the puddle it must be eithere the oil pan, the timing cover or, it might be where your fuel pump attaches to the engine.

Gas or brake fluid. Or I had a shock leave a puddle once.
