Use Later Model Air Cleaner on My '56
Guys, I am working toward getting the 265 engine in my '56 running. The engine is the 240 hp with dual four barrel carbs. One concern I have is the air cleaners. The correct air cleaners are sealed with no good way to clean them. I am thinking about using a later model repro air cleaner that uses replaceable elements for driving and working on the car and using the two small correct ones for judging and shows. Does anyone know any reason why this set up won't work on a '56? I was wondering if there were any issues with hood clearance on the '56--'57 hood for this large air cleaner to work.
