    Equilizer hitch thoughts please

I was wondering what all your thoughts are on this Pro Series RB2 12,000 lb hitch? It's for my 10,000 lb trailer and I was told it was a Reese when I bought it.

No where on it does it say Reese but it does say made in China so I started doing some research and it is made or imported by these guys. http://www.towingproducts.com/Default.aspx It looks like they have bought out many of the reputable hitch manufacturing companies(including Reese) but also import hitches from over seas.

Now I also found out that there is Reese,
REESE has always strived to provide the right trailer towing system for each application. This is why we offer as many as ten different trailer hitches for a single vehicle. Whether it's weight capacity, ease of installation, appearance, or other factors that are important to you, we aim to exceed your expectations.

and Reese-Hitches(not owned by Cequent Towing Products)
Trailer Hitches from Reese and most popular brands. Search tool to find trailer hitches for any make / model. All trailer hitches and accessories in stock and ship same day.

So at this point I'm not sure if I have a good Reese quality hitch or some cheap piece of junk.

For what it's worth this kit was $300 CDN and a real Reese hitch just up the road is $400 CDN.

What do you guys think, should I keep it or spring for the more expensive one?

The sites are somewhat confusing, but I believe that Reece Hitches is just a retail outlet for several manufacturers. Reece lists a Pro Series in their product listing, and it looks like Cequent owns Reece, Drawtite, and several other companies.

I am going to stick my neck out, after looking at all the catalogs, and say that what you have is a Reece Pro Series

      Thanks Dick.

That's what I was hoping to hear but the product number of my hitch 49570 isn't found on the Reese web site and with those web sites being as confusing as they are I really have no idea if what I have is worth keeping...

I didn't realize that there were so many smoke and mirrors to look past when choosing a simple hitch.
