    BBC Rocker Arm Nuts

Just over the past two weeks it seems that I have at least one rocker arm nut that is backing off on y L-72. When I tighten it down it just feels loose as well. What is my best bet for a replacement set. Assuming I swap out the nuts and continue to have the problem, and determine that I have a bad stud, what is the best bet on a replacement for that?

    Thanks.

I would use GM rocker nuts. These are GM #3896648. These are not very expensive, either. If you have one or two that are backing off, I'd replace ALL the nuts.

The GM rocker stud is GM #3921912. You could also use ARP. However, technically, ARP studs should not be used with stock-type, self-locking nuts. They are designed for use with "polylocks". Many folks do use the ARP studs with self-locking nuts, though, and I've not heard of problems
