finish on nut for Cable Lap belt assy

This is the nut that holds on the Cable assy Lap belt anchor GM 3977713 that's in the tunnel. There are 2 of these, one on each side of the cable that is attached to the frame.

Also is this a self locking nut?

Steve, that nut is a self lock style, and mine I believe has a natural finish on my 72. I did however put a little stain clear over it to protect, I like the look of the satin clear over the natural parts, and helps with the rust down the road.
