    Jerry,

Have you tried that beautiful restored 3810 on the car? Mine is running great, I am very happy with the results. Now installing power steering, and steering box overhaul..

      Tim,

      Do you mean this one:

Will probably put it on the car this summer, after my wife orders it off the coffee table

If it whistles, I think I know how to fix it from this thread

My Recent whistle was from the wrong gasket between manifold and carb, replaces it with two correct ones and it stopped.

if you use a "open" carb to manifold gasket instead of the correct shaped one to match the manifold opening it could cause your whistle

Clem, I noticed that the gasket for my 66 L36 has the pattern that matches the metal plate and manifold, but not the slot passages on the bottom of the carb; those slots are for the vac adv port and PCV valve port. Does the gasket have to match or partially cover up those openings - or it does not matter?

Hi, I believe they isolate those passages as they should. As long as the gasket matches the intake manifold, that is what counts.

Yea Clem, that was EXACTLY my issue, for some stupid reason I had a "square" bore gasket on my manafold and it didn't occur to me that that was bad. Now my comon sense knowledge base has been broadened.
