Finish on front sway bar bolts, hardware

What is the finish on the bolt, nut, spacer and washers
Archives show the bolt is zinc. I would assume that the rest is zinc as well.

Also the sheet metal screws that attach the sway bar brackets to the frame.

My list shows these brackets as natural.

    This is for a 73

    Thanks

The front sway bar link bolts, retainers, spacers, and nuts are zinc plated.

The fasteners that attach the front bushing retainers to the frame are not sheet metal screws. They are standard hex head bolts with a captured washer. Some of these I've seen are zinc plated and some are black phosphate. I don't know what was originally used on your car.

The bushing retainers on my 1969 and those I've seen on other early C3's were painted semi-gloss black. Some may have been natural, though.

      Thanks Joe,
I've bagged my original bushing bolts and had a quick look at them last wknd.

Over the model years, it seems like the finish on these are all over the map.

I'll have a more careful look at them to see if I can spot any finish reminants.

I seem to recall from last wknd, that the threads are pointed tappered so I assumed they were sheet metal screws.

They usually are pointed tip. However, they are a standard, machine screw thread, 5/16-18. The pointed tip is to aid alignment and starting of the thread. The same type of bolts are used at other locations on the car. The radiator support side bolts are another example.
