    Stolen 54 Corvette

I am posting this notice on behalf of a fellow corvette owner I read about in the morning paper. He does not have a computer and gave me his permission to post this which I thought might assist him in getting his car back.

A 1954 Corvette with vin ending in 1250 was stolen between 4/16 and 5/4 in the Oak Grove, Oregon area. There is a $5000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the vehicle. The full article and his contact information are in the attached link.

Pardon me if this is a little out of the usual Q&A but I thought this was a good place to get the word out to alert potential buyers.

This is really sad. It sounds like an inside job, and professionaly done. Its very possible that the car is already long gone out of the country. It would be very difficult for someone to get around the VIN # and registration in the US. It is also possible that the intent is to 'parts' it out. Very sad indeed.
I think we should all watch Flebay very closely for a sudden insurgence of 53-55 parts all of a sudden showing up. Its not uncommon for theives like this to realize a very small percentage of the parts actual worth.

3 years ago I had all 4 tires and wheels stolen off our family sedan. A mundane 06 Chev Malibu. Woke up one morning and the car was sitting on the rotors. Never did recover them of course. Cops said the tires were probably out of state before we even woke up. -Dan-

I've put the car in the C1 registry and mark it stolen. That might one day proved you the needed information to reclaim it... It's exposure is world wide making this ca very hard to sell...

      regards,
      Rob.
