    L71 accelerator ground strap

I searched the archives and found a thread about this with pics of the configuration, but the pics have been deleted. Anyone have a pic of the proper orientation of the ground strap on the accelerator linkage on a '67 L71? Thanks for any help, my assembly manual doesn't have this.

    Mike,
Check Section U69 sheet 5.00 under the radio. Info is also available in the Service Manual. However these sources are for 63/64 So you need to double check.

Note (63/64) the bolt at the accelerator linkage does NOT have a star washer under it! Even though some judges seem to expect one there; even the JG picture (from AIM) does not show a star washer. Also shows the ground strap under the head of manifold bolt then the wire support then the manifold. Sorry no picture.

OK, thanks I did find one schematic in the U69 pages, but it is of a SB 4-bbl. I guess one end of the strap is bolted to the lower shielding support bracket under the shielding and the other goes to the carb linkage-accelerator rod pivot nut, the schematic does show a star washer on it.
