1957 pedal assembly question.

I have been told that the 56 57 clutch and brake pedal assembly is unique to these 2 years.
Is that true and what is the difference between these 2 years and the rest of the C1 cars.

the 58-62 clutch/brake assembly is longer than the 53-57 assembly, due to re-configuration of the 58up dash. also the 58 up pads are larger. mike

not interchangable and it'd take a good bit of fabrication, not to mention downsizing the pedals, to mount the late in an early c-1. mike

Bruce, repro parts are readily available - CC and others. My guess is your rubber bushing and bolt on the crosshaft is probably badly worn anyhow. Also the crosshaft ball sockets wear as 56 - 57 did not have grease fittings. In fact grease fittings were not incorporated until 1963.
I did my 57 last year. Everything was shot - bought all new. I would think the repro parts would pass judging if that is your intent. New parts look just like the original ones and there is no markings or symbols on the stuff. -Dan-
