1972 Final Month Serial Number

Hello,

I am looking for some expert help here.

My NCRS 1970-1972 Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide (Fourth Edition) indicates that car 501344 was the last car produced in August 1971.

The codes on my car are as follows:

Trim Plate: Trim Code 400 ; Paint Code 945 ; Build Date A31 (Tuesday, August 31st)

VIN: 1Z37K2S501429

Engine Stamping Pad: 12S501429 V0825CKW (Wednesday, August 25th)

What would a judge/team leader say about the date discrepancy if my car was taken to a judged event ?

What is the date on the blue certification label on the back of the driver's door?

Kevin I would see no problems at all. The body build date is when the trim tag was installed on the body not when it came off the assembly line. How about Wednesday Sept 1 for the date your car most likely come off the line.

Which is exactly why I asked for the date on the blue label. The labels were almost the last things to go on the car.
