Im hauling my 89' to Des Moines for the regional there this week.... Ive never had to haul a C4 before and I loaded the car today and found it hard to find anything that would clear the exhaust to tie down too. I have D-rings in the floor with a dove tail . (enclosed) The front was no problem.. What does anyone else do in Hauling their C4? thanks for the help,,, doug

Hi Doug. Not sure if 89s and 96s are identical, but I use straps attached to "J-hooks" that insert into the transporting "slots" near each wheel to secure the car. Worked perfectly and did not interfere with the exhaust.
If the above is not clear, or if you need more info, I can try to find out where I got the J-hooks and/or post pictures of one in one of the slots.

Probably too late to install now, but for next time I would install the track system that attaches to the floor. You use the over the tire webbing straps. I installed on my open trailer and love the ease of tying down and there is no movement. Mac's Custom Tie Downs.

Don't think I would like Arlansas to Iowa - too many things can happen on the interstates. In my enclosed trailer going to Chicago from Jersey to a few events I had some things happen which made me happy the car was in a trailer.- Top
