Do your bolts have a FLANGED ("washer") head?

Very often, black phosphate finishes, even when new, have quite a range of "grayness", from almost a medium gray to almost black.

I had other responsibilities Saturday afternoon, and was unable to make all the right connections to get another look at the carburetor on that 1969. There was a 1972 with a Rochester here at the meet, but I had no chance to even get a peek at that car.

Joe, front 2 bolts are made with a thin washer that contacts the carb., the hex. head is flat, no flange, the rear bolts have 3 lines, no other head marking, excluding the head marking letter difference, all 4 bolts would appear to be a matched set when installed and of course no lock washers were ever used. Your carb bolts sound like the GM #9419047, front, and GM #9419032, rear. This is what GM says was used from later 1971 right through 1981 for the front bolts and from 1972 -81 for the rear.

I suppose they could have been used on some cars earlier. What surprises me, though, is that your car has bolts for the rear carb mounting. I would not expect to find that on any 1970.

Joe, I removed a rear bolt and it has a washer made on bolt like the front bolts that contact carb., they measure 1 7/16" including hex. head or 1 3/16" without head long, they appear to be designed as Q-Jet carb. bolts. Steve
