Putting a clutch in a 67 4 speed, pretty sure the trans is wrong, was wondering what it is out of. Drivers side reads 3952648, pass reads 3925661, tail reads 3857584, pass reads bottom to top POD30B and under that 20N123796, on the drivers side it has maybe a heat sender plug in or reverse sender plug in?
1967 trans #s ?

Assuming the transmission is a complete unit as originally assembled, what you have is a Muncie close ratio 4 speed originally installed in a 1970 Camaro built at Norwood, OH.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1967 trans #s ?
Joe & Keith -- I vote that it's from a 1970 Pontiac product (GM division 2). If Camaro (Chevrolet =1), the VIN number for a car produced sometime in May of 1970 would be some 150,000 Camaros beyond SOP. The starting VIN trans derivative for the '69 model year at Norwod is 19N500001.
So this trans is from some Pontiac assembly plant, where this April 30th trans assy. got installed.
At least that's my conclusion.

Yes, it was likely a Pontiac FIREBIRD produced at Norwood---both Camaros and Firebirds were produced there. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1967 trans #s ?
Keith, There is a guy out in Washington that specializes in generation 2 Pontiac Firebirds and while he'd rather sell you a Muncie, and they rarely give you a quarter of market worth, this may have value to the Firebird/Camaro crowd.
Good news is that I have seen lots of 67 Muncie's out there so you should be able to get a very good date close to your car's build date should you decide to change it to a year correct Muncie.- Top
