    63 front turn signal

I decided to replace the wiring in the front end of my 63, just to many issues with headlight and turn signals. So went to Lectric Limited and bought the firewall forward. Now it says the front parking turn signal lamp extension does not fit in the housing.

Question, is there an article that tells you how to remove the old socket from the housing and put new lectric limited wiring harness extension in? Or should I return it and buy the entire housing assembly from Long Island?

Amazing how a simple half day job turns into some much frustration and money.

Greg, Original 63 front parking light wiring assemblies are quite different from say the over the counter ones Chevy sold.
Use Search at the top of the page for more info. John

The only parking lights I have seen which should (?) pass judging are NOS GM items due to the wire colors. As John mentioned the 63 PL will be different and even those come in many flavors, length, connector size, hole, . .

Major difference is that the connector at the light is covered by a "full boot" while all NOS and after market lights are not - see picture (left is 63)

Your normal 63/64 car all have the "full boot" at least the originals I have seen.

Thanks for the information. The photos speak a thousand words, apparently mine our not original, mine do not have the rubber boot. They sure look 47 years old. So I guess I can do either for now.

          Greg,
"guess I can do either for now" If you are referring to parking lights with or without "full boots" then the answer is YES. Judges are not looking for that feature however they are looking for the Wire Color. You will need to have the correct colors !!!!! Even with the correct colors if they happen to be old and hence lost a little color you may still get a minor deduct, know I did.
