    1969 350/300 Quadrajet

I am looking for a rebuildable carburetor for my 1969 350/300 automatic. I found one on e-bay with part number 7029207. This matches the carb on my car but the seller says it is for a 350/350 with manual transmission. The assembly manual only gives one part number, 7029207. Is this just an originality question or is there a difference in the two carburetors?

You need 7029202 for your 350/300 AT. There is a difference, most notably the idle stop solenoid. Undoubtedly different jets.

I believe you are looking at the 350/350 page on the assy manual, the 350/300 is the base engine and should use the 7029202 carb. the '207 is a 350/350 carb, and the engine did not have an auto trans application as I under stand. As a plus, the 7029202 was also used in passenger car applications, making it much more readily available (and thus less expensive)

Thanks. That means that the one on there isn't the original one but came off of a 350/350. Would you expect the car's performance to change significantly with the right carb? I've never had any performance issues.

Not really, fuel economy might improve slightly. The carb you have if it is a 207, depending on the date is much more rare, as it was a Corvette only piece, while the 350/300 carb with automatic was shared with a LOT of Impalas Chevelles and the like...

The 7029207 was used for many years after 1969 as the SERVICE carb for all 68-69 small blocks, Corvette and otherwise, with Q-Jets. It was supplied under GM part #7046904 (on BOX part number). It probably got on your car this way. I'll bet you'll find the date on it to be after 1969. My experience has been that these carbs will SERVICE the 68-69 applications and perform PERFECTLY.

The carb part number will not be too difficult to find. The date will be extremely hard to find.
