    D- Day Is Saturday

Its been about 3 years I have been restoring my 72 ,I heading for a chapter meet , I am asking you seasoned C-3 judges what are some of the most commonly missed items that could have been fixed before a meet? I am hoping I covered the bases.

I have read many posts about the operations, which I have checked and double checked, decal, fire ext.. etc.

Thanks for your responses to my first quest . Ed

You can never check Operations enough - remember, it's not only "Does It Work?" but includes "Work properly". Get two knowledgable guys and DO IT AGAIN!

Ed both sets of keys. Paper work owners manual, POP, etc. Spare parts light bulbs, fuses, flasher, etc. and some basic tools. Spray water bottle for wipers. Plus a comfortable chair and a cut girl to distract the judges attention. Fender covers for Mechanical and Chassis teams. Good luck

Make sure your spare and your jack are installed.

            Paperwork, as mentioned.

Your own copy of the JG. Play the odds - there will be a time when you want to "debate" a point with them, especially regarding tires or similar standard deductions.

Don't be afraid to ask a Team Leader to arbitrate if needed.

              Ed,

All have given you great advice. I can only offer that you relax, enjoy the judging process and have fun! Congratulations to you and your family on getting the car this far.

Ed, you will do fine, the car and your efforts look excellent. Your nerves and concerns are normal, I am always a basket case. It is a very different experience, I have never gone through such an intense and critical examination ( I know its the car but its as much me) but it is done in a pleasant manner with the intent of teaching and sharing knowledge.
Please remind me of these words tomorrow as the judges are doing the interior and mechanical at the same time and I am trying to listen to two conversations simultaneously.

                  Hi Edward,
Congratulations on getting to this point!
I'm sure you and your car will do well!!
Bring a couple of dark towels to put over the windows to 'help' the OPS judges see the gauge and cig. lighter lights if the judging will be outside.
                  Have fun!
                  Regards,
                  Alan

Anxious to hear the outcome Ed.

I've followed along in your restoration/preparation through the TDB, and am confident that you had your car ready. Hell, I've stolen some of your info and improved my car based on some of your posts!

Let us know how you did. I'm particularly interested in the exhaust system. You and I researched, purchased and installed the Gardner system simultaneously and I have yet to be reviewed with mine.

Don, all went very well received a top flite at the chapter level the car scored very well in all areas other that exterior, paint total on paint and windsheild about 55 points. that base coat clear coat was just to good. as the winsheild was a replacement. half off the points.I want to say that about the total points of was65-70 points.but will expect that when I take to the regional level more than this score.

The exhaust system went well, as did the tips from Rich Fortier.
