I have a matching number 1968 Corvette 427 390hp and I'm thinking about installing a set of new 1969 Corvette Side Fender Louvers on it. Were these Louvers available from GM for an August 1968 production Corvette? If not, would it degrade the value of my car to the average Corvette owner by installing them? These louvers came on a previous 1968 Corvette I owned and I thought they looked good on that car but I have been hesitant to install them on this car.

Re: 1969 Corvette Side Fender Louvers
Joseph,
Looking in Rick Bizzoco's 1969 Stingray Guidebook, he states "the return of the Stingray script on the fender was accompanied by a fender vent trim RPO TJ2". It does not say anything about only being available late in the model run, so my assumption is that it was available from the start of 1969 production.

Joe, there was a post a month or two on this same question, I was thinking that it can be done without drilling holes in the fenders, just use alittle 3M two sided tape to attach them and cut of some screw heads and glue them in place to look like the real thing.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
