    Doug,

Believe you wheel fitment comment is backwards. Drum brake wheels will not fit on disc brake applications. Disc brake wheels should fit the drum brakes without any issues.

Of course........I stand to be corrected .

Actually the current owner has had the car for 32 years. It was originally Sebring Silver (a nice color!), but the Riverside Red repaint was done many years ago to owners preference.
I like it, but could always put it back to original color if I take it from a driver to a show car. Same goes for the other minor mods.
Overall, tasteful and presents itself well, imo.
I'll probably just put back the original steering wheel (comes with car) and maybe the shifter.

At least need correct steering wheel - $350.00. It is obvious the car has been "Personalized" by the long time owner, and why not. I've owned mine since new and have gone through many phases of changes, only a few that still remain for what I would term "improvements" for the sake of driveability specially in these times of crapy gas. All in all, I'd say the car looks real good and has lots of potential to be what ever you want to make it.

May be a real deal 63 coupe, but if you plan to judge it, here are some thing to consider:

                  Repaint - 6 to 10K
                  Wheels and wheelcovers - $2500K
                  Tires - $600
                  Brake master Cylinder - $800
                  Seat Belts - $750
                  Steering Wheel - $300
                  Shifter - $350
                  Fan Blade - $100
                  Rocker Panels look strange..potential $500 - $800

                  Probably much more...$$$$

If you just want a crusier to enjoy, it looks like a dandy.

All good points, nobody ever said this hobby would be cheap!
On the other hand I plan to own it forever and those original parts can be purchased over the years. Plus it'll be my own labor including paint if it ever comes to that.
In the end, I think the car will recoup those expenses with possibly even a little profit to my daughters when I will it to them!

                        Fred:

If you want another set of eyes to look at it, I might be able to get down there next week. It's a little bit of a drive for me, but I get to Ocean Isle quite often. I'm not an expert on 63's, but I know a little bit about cars, particularly eastern coastal cars. Do you know if Rick put his fingers in the frame? Send me an e-mail if your interested.

As for the picture, the wheels are wrong and the color is not orange enough (although that might be the light).

                          Paul,
I would love another set of eyes to give me an opinion, but I've made plans to travel this Friday to pick it up. Obviously next week won't work.
If you have plans that bring you to the area this week, let me know.
                          Thanks, I appreciate it!

Oh, and he looked at the frame and said he was impressed by it, reportedly no rust at all.
I'll check the rear kick up area. I've been told about dropping the glove box to check the birdcage, but I'm not sure what's involved in that, and plus there is a vintage air unit mounted under the glove box.

I'm glad to hear that things checked out well during the inspection. I wish we were going to be at the beach this weekend - it would be great to meet you.

If you decide to change the valve covers, let me know - I'd be interested in the ones currently on the car for a Model A Ford street rod project that I have in the works.

Best of luck to you. By the way, how are you going to transport the car back home?

                              Regards,
                              Todd
