    Master cylinder cap replating

I had my original master cylinder cap replated for my 67 a couple of years ago but I am still not happy with the color. I want it to look like this. Where can I get my cap replated to look like the one pictured. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to tell you, but that looks like the spray bomb kit from Eastwood.

It won't look like the picture but if you're interested in correct plating, call Steve Gregori 559 875-0290, excellent plating work and fast turn around time. He's an NCRS member.

I had Steve replate mine in 08. While at Bloomington last year a judge commented that the cap was not gold enough. I did not receive a deduct but want to get it right if he was correct. Here is a pic of mine, should I just leave it alone?

Good point, it does look a little too silvery. Richard Fortier (DriveLine) also does plating. I had one cap done by each and I was satisfied with the gold content of both.

Steve Gregorio did my cap a few yrs ago. It turned "silvery" over time so I sent it back and he redid it under warranty. No problem since.

Master cylinder cap replating, here's how it is done

                  Plating:

                  Afterplating:

Then after a little post plate shining, the dichromate dip:

Then while drying, hit it with a hair dryer if you want to bring out some reds and greens:

                  Having fun,

I will give Steve a call and see what he says. Thanks again.
