    C-1 Top frame finish

What is the correct finish for the top frame header on a '61. Was it painted or raw aluminum. Also what is the sheen on the other members of the top frame? Gloss or semi flat? Thanks

If you are talking about the hardtop frame, mine is aluminum.

Thanks John, but This is the convertible top frame. The front header that clamps to the windshield frame when the top is up. It's solid aluminum and after stripping all the old paint from it, I'm wondering if it came from the factory painted or natural finish.

P.S. I'm assuming the top bows are painted black. In looking through the archives I see that some earlier years had the bows painted beige. I'm especially curious about the front header- If its painted or natural finish aluminum. Thanks in advance

          Richard,

Here's a 62 ST frame that's been in the well since 1972. Front header and rear header are gloss black, actually everything is gloss black. I took a shot of the header before I cleaned it, then after.
