My 67 was assembled on Jan. 3. I haven't been able to find a manual with what might be a suitable delivery date, but I just found one with the delivery date blank. It's just a Chevrolet manual, not one with a Corvette POP. What would be an appropriate delivery date to fill in? FWIW the car was probably sold new in Tennessee and is likely a special order (427/400 with auto and A/C).

Re: 1967 Owner Protection Plan manual delivery date
If the build date really is Jan 3rd, then it's probably a safe bet that the earliest sale completion would be roughly a week later (transportation in delay). But, some of these cars sat in dealer inventory for a reasonable amount of time (availability of buyer to complete the transaction, credit paperwork completion/approval, original buyer back-out, and so on).
I wouldn't expect a highly optioned Corvette to have been dealer purchased and floor planned based on 'speculation'... But, there's no set rhyme/reason for the relationship between a given car's build date and its actual delivery date.- Top

Re: 1967 Owner Protection Plan manual delivery date
Thanks, Jack. I'm going to assume that mine was a special order because of the options and the price (almost $6K). I'm going to futher assume that the buyer was a professional person or a rich guy; if so, his availabilty might have been an issue. I was thinking a delivery date of 10-14 days. Sound fair?- Top

That was quite a sum of money in 1967. Here's what the inflation calculator comes up with...
What cost $6000 in 1967 would cost $38129.38 in 2009.Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .- Top

Wow! The silly thing is that the original owner kept it only 2 years. Rich men and toys, I guess.
