    C1 (1960) Cowl Vent Lever

This is probably the dumb question of the day. Attached is a picture of my cowl vent lever mechanism. I have blasted and repainted. Is the hinged area in the blue circle supposed to articulate/move? It seems like it should for the level to be able to move through the cycle and open and close the vent.

Currenty mine does not move at all, I assume it is due to rust. It was very rusty when I started and I tried to break it loose by hand before I blasted and painted, but didn't want to force it in case it is supposed to be in a fixed position.

    Thanks,

It is supposed to be free to pivot at that point you circled.

      Don,
There is a small steel ball that sets the detents for the three stop points between the lever and mount. Be sure the ball and track are clean of paint and greased to allow movement.
