66 Vent window assembly Blues

In searching the Archives I came across a thread that said there was a great article by Dave Zuberer is in the Summer of 04 on how to reinstall the vent window assembly, felt, etc.etc.

Does anyone have a copy of that article ?

Also any other comments on how to put the vent windows back together and put in new felt, would be helpful. I know someone has done this before.

I took it apart ages ago to get it rechromed , and am at a total loss as to how it went together , where the rivets go ,staples if any , etc. etc.(don't ask me why I didn't take any pictures because I don,t know )

I did read that several people had trouble trying to install the New Window Run , as it was not bent to the same degree as their old one. If that is still the case , can you get and reinstall new "felt" into your old run? If so how and where ?

Unfortunatley, it does't describe how to replace a new Window Run, So I still need help with that part, and a few others. I should state mine is a RAG TOP , as I now see there are differences .

Jim.....I have pictures of the inside of my 67 conv door when I emptied it and redid the window run felt, cleaned the locks/openers, cleaned the window up/down mechanism, installed new wipes etc. For what they are worth, I can send you pictures I took if you want them. Jim - Here is some documentation that I think will help.

Dave Z. and I (actually, Carla!) were working on our restorations at the same time and corresponded back and forth using these pictures. We were comparing notes on the vent window assemblies and how to get them apart.
