Chris, sometimes home depot or lowes have a asst. collection of fastners that maybe of some help. fastenal sometimes want you to buy quanities of a fastner, if not a stocking item.

You are going to make me go look, but my best memory of my license plate screws on my 1970 is a slot and not cross-recess. Of course my memory has been faulty in the past, and likely will be again. And of course there ARE other year Corvettes, I am told.

One thing good about Fastenal, if there's a retail outlet near you, is they carry the AuVeCo line of automotive fasteners... It's a HUGE catalog of many speciality items...

Yes, the screws were the slotted type for C3's, at least earlier C3's if not all. However, the phillips type were used on many later GM cars, if not some earlier.
