    63 convertible windhield clip locations?

Need info on how many and what locations to put the clips that hold the stainless windshield molding around the windshield frame. Assembly manual is not real clear. I marked the old location of the clips, but the kit I recieved from LICS has 9 narrow and 4 wide clips. I had more than a total of 13 clips originally...probably close to 18. Aalso LICS instructions say narrow clips on bottom and 4 wide clips on top, but there is no way wide clips will snap into the top of the windshield frame, it is too thin.

Looks to me like the wide clips go on the bottom where there is triple overlap of the windshield frame metal.

And last, is it possible every single one of my original windshield clips have one tab broken off? The ones I pulled off only have one locking tab and the reproductions from LICS have 2, one on each side of the clip.

    Any help is appreciated,
    Boyan

    Boyan,

You are correct that the wide clips go on the triple wide metal layers. I remember six wide clips (four at bottom two at top) but I will double check later.

Do a search in the archives from a few years ago as this is discussed and there is more info for you. Do you have a 1963 shop manual, this along with the AIM outlines the procedure and helps make it clearer.

The clips with one tab may be OK, I just can't remember without looking.

I always forget to check the shop manual. It clearly states "13 evenly spaced lower clips." Does not mention anything for theuppers on convertibles, I will check the moulding and see if they attach another way.
