    5657516 & 5657522 1972 Tachometer Differences

Looking for some information on the differences between the 5657519 and 5657522 tachometers for the 72-74 models. I have recently fell into a cache of parts from a defunct speedometer shop (talk about a kid in a candy store) and was wondering what the differences in these two units are (Joe L. ??). I see from the parts list (speedo and tach book) that ALL of the components are the same with the exception of the dial (face). Corvette parts books shows one for the base motor and one for the big block, both with the same redline, so what is different? My question is why two different part numbers??

I GOT THE WRONG PART NUMBER IN THE TITLE AND CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO EDIT. THE NUMBERS IN THE TEXT ARE CORRECT.

The GM #5657519 and GM #5657522 did not have the same redline and that's the difference between the two. The 5657519 has a 5300 RPM redline and was used only for base engine cars. The 5657522 had a 5600 RPM redline and was used for LS-5. It was also used for 1972 LT-1 with C-60.

Thanks Joe, I thought that may be the case. One of the books I have shows both as having the 5300-7000 "redline", and I thought this may be a typo, and it seems that is the case. This is a true learning experience and I may be able to "build" some new speedos and tachs by the time I get through all this stuff.
