AH let me explain it is for a 1964 corvette or any of the 63-67 vettes are you familiar with them? They have a chrome ignition cap or cover, whatever you want to call it, this is where you put the key in to start the car. Hope that helps you understand.

Anyway it keeps falling of periodically when I remove the key....

Robert - Unless the face bezel is broken you should be able to re-stake the face bezel on to the lock cylinder body. You will have to remove the ignition lock cylinder to perform the operation. You will see where and how the face bezel is attached. I usually use a small hammer and flat punch and do the operation on a piece of hardwood. Good luck. Pete

ok thanks, the lock cylinder face will fit over the chrome nut that secures the ignition switch in place?

            Robert,

Yes. The lock cylinder with it's crimped on face plate can be inserted and removed from the ignition switch with the large outer bezel that screws onto the switch in place.
