    58 horn fastening plate

Am ready to install new horns but there is no plates to fasten to. Looked at the diagrahms but dont get where they go, are there some measurements or close ups of exactly where they go, or a top and side to side from something that will help out? Thank You, Brad.

Nope, The horn brackets are part of the horn (351 352) the screw plate that fastens to the body of the car that the horn brackets fasten to near the headlights somewhere is what I need to know, where exactly do these bolt plates go, hood is off need to order the plates. Everybody please chime in. Thanks, Brad.

Seems that is how my 54 fastens, the Ass. manuals show a plate riveting to the body naturally in front of radiator and by headlights somewhere, any 58ers out there who have done this or can measure or explain this, keep trying Roy we'll get this. Pain in the Brad again.

Brad, I just ordered a single plate and installed it on my '58. I will take a few pics, measurements, and possibly create a template for you. I have the hood off right now, so it should be pretty easy.

            Stay tuned,

            Don

Here's a picture of the horn mounting hole taken through the headlight area.

I understand the plate is painted black, but what about the rivets? Is the plate installed before blackout and then both the plate and rivets are painted?

What is the finish for the bolt that mounts the horn?

                  Dennis
