    1966 windshield pillar weatherstrip

This must have been discovered before me, but there isn't any comprehensive treatment of this I found under C2 weatherstrips.

1966 late April car, the w/s for the windshield pillar is the same in the AIM for 66, 67 and of course the service parts books, but...

If looking at the pictures the mucket at the base of the pillar is missing on the CRC part.

The metro part had more of this foam but was still TOO short to put the push pin into it as per the original. Then that same part is 5/8" short in overall base to the cowl - the hard rubber length.

Has anyone seen this and who's parts are you using to get the exact original appearance?

    Judging???

WOW! some really big differences. Glad I picked up some NOS pieces, which look like your originals the boxes are dated 1990.

I am surprised that in 1990 these were still made by GM, any one know of a part source? CRC and Metro are not even close...

Ron: A quick internet search indicates many definitions for the word "mucket". Some on the "urban dictionary" are rather funny, and some some are close to your use of the word.

I have been around some body shops, and at one time had a summer job painting farm equipment. Body shops are where I suspect the term mucket comes from. Is it a common term from parts manufacturing?

        Thanks!

Tom, yes, from the rubber-auto industry itself, just happens I managed sealing systems for new model cars, little more that 20 years ago.
