68 hood hinge damage

My 68 roadster has damage next to the hood hinge attachment. I've been told that this was changed on the 69 model year.
I'm going to have this repaired, can someone tell me or show a picture of how they improved this area for 69.
Has anyone made this repair? Cureous how you did it...

Jim, Im not a professional body guy, but I would think you would want to make a reinforcement, maybe a piece of sheet metal and make the 45 degree bend as the lip and fender area is contoured, and theres a product the company (Sems) makes and its a panel bonding agent, its a two part expoxy most of the body shop guys use it. this product should adhere the sheet metal piece to the fiberglass, and would put on the under side of the broken area. once set-up alittle sanding to conseal and some flat black paint.

You may have to spent alittle time forming the piece you are fabracating to get a good fit. once set up this should help re-inforcing that area, then you just need to finish the topside body work.

I think your right on. Maybe I need to find a later C3 and see how they reinforced it. Thanks for your ideas.

They didn't reinforce the fiberglass, they added supports to the end of the header bar and inner-fender to support the panel.
