    68 L68 Fuel Pump update?

I have researched some threads that are now 2+ years on this topic and was curious on any updated info that might help me track down the right fuel pump. An incorrect aftermarket fuel pump was on my engine when I bought it, so I am looking to get one that will meet the judging criteria but I have some ques?

    1. What part number is correct for 1968 L68- 40659 or 40482? CC shows 40482 for 67-69 427 3X2 but TIM&JG shows 40659 for 68 427.

    2. Are rebuilt units still out there or will the units offered by CC or Paragon be OK for judging.

Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks again

Paragon - Goat Hill, either place should get you the proper rebuilt part number.

I believe the 40482 was originally used for all 1969 Corvette big blocks with Holley carbs. The 40659 was used for L-36 with Q-Jet carb.

Later, the 40482 became the SERVICE carb for all 1969 Corvette big block applications.

Is it possible that some 1969 L-68 were originally built with a 40482 carb? Yes, I'd say it's POSSIBLE.

FYI, the Airtex fuel pumps have the correct part number, but do not have the AC logo. Airtex also makes the AC replacement pumps.

Patrick, Paragon pn# 11507 $160.00. I have had mine on for 2 years, no problem. They were backordered though.

            Thank all,

I think I will align with the TIM&JG and source the 40659 as far as a part num.

It seems Goat Hill had some concerns with reliability in older threads-anyone have recent experiences?

            Regards,
            Pat

              Thanks Jack,

That is where my search started, with the feedback from the others, I think i will go the same path and order from Paragon today. BTY $170 list currently.
