    AC Delco battery covers

We've all seen those battery tops that are meant to give a modern battery an original look but someone told me today that they just saw a cover that covers the sides as well. He said that it looked like it just slipped over the battery and that the only way he could tell it was a cover was by looking where the posts stick through.

Has anyone seen or heard of these or was he mistaken?

My 96 LT4 came from the factory with cover that fits over the battery and covers all four sides, no cover material for the top of the battery.

      Re: AC Delco battery covers

Thanks Jim but I guess I should have mentioned a year. I'm mostly concerned with a "cover" for the style of battery used in 69. I have no idea what year of vehical it was that the guy was refering to, nor do I know what make it was but since most of the cars at the show where he saw it in are pre 80's and he is a GM parts man(I was getting a quote on a Delco battery) I just assumed the vehical was 60s-70s GM vintage.

So now, does anyone know of a battery "cover" that covers the sides as well as the top to make it look original, whether it be 50's, 60's or 70's vintage? Or is all that's available is the top cover and repop batteries? Thanks.

Optima has a " 3 sided kit " for their batteries. Thats all I know of.

Just go online to any of the top vendors, Ecklers, Zip, Corvette Central, etc.

They have many styles tops and sides for different types of batteries

There is a Tar Topper cover for the Optima batteries.

There are vendors out there that have the covers, but do not expect it to be undetectable for judging.

I have a top cover as well, but I don't like the caps which are molded as part of the cover. Never will use it even with my spare Optima as it just looks too hoky.
