you bet they were. mrs clem used to call the stuff from GM tech center and katech that arrived by UPS as "care packages" those days are long gone and i am really glad i was around then because we had a lot of fun.

Yes, those who didn't live them will never know what it was like. And they will never be repeated.

Makes me a little sad to realize that an era has passed and will never return and how much we as a nation have lost by allowing ourselves to become dependent upon other nations. A time when Made in America stood for something and when we were innocent and decent and proud and made no excuses for it. I feel sorry for the children of these United States today who will never experience this country as past generations were so privileged to have lived it.

Hey Ken -- that is called progress. At least that was what I was told when I ran the local historical society and the city government wanted to tear down everything that was old.

Sure wish I could've been there. I was born in 67, and while there are many parts of the era of my youth I cherish, the previous generation's era seems magical to me - particularly for car guys!

nothing wrong with being born in 67 as i was born in 34 and as the days go by i wish it was 64.
