    Yes I've had a 57

Many know of my copper 55 and asked if I ever had a 57.
When I lived in Southern Ca. In 67 I was looking around at a Chevy only wrecking yard in the valley for parts to my 55 Nomad and saw a 57 getting ready to be crushed ( yes they did crush Corvettes and 55 to 57 Chevy's back then ).It was near complete and I bought it stopping it from being crushed for $150.00. I had started Vintage Corvettes of Southern Ca. For 53 to 55 only ,then later included 53 to 57 Ha!
In 1975 I joined NCRS and took my $150.00 57 to show it off at their meet. Few people ever saw or knew a 57 came with FI,PW,PT, PG and two tops originally if ordered . Also few had ever seen the color and when I ran the power top it just blow them away asking what is that! Later in 1985 NCRS put it on the front page of the restorer.I've also had other 57's and other years but always kept 55 because it's so odd.

wow-- should have never sold it Roy. If you still had it today I would have given you 300.00 for it-- you could have doubled your money.. Alas

Roy, I put the amount of $150 into an inflation calculator.

here's what it came up with.....

What cost $150.00 in 1967 would cost $953.23 in 2009.
Good carburetion is fuelish hot air . . .

Roy, You should buy my friend Tom's Copper 57!!!!! It's a PG so your knees would be happy! I'll restore it for you. Next time in Florida you can pick it up and drive it to CA.
