1974 Corvette decal placement

I am looking for a book or web site that will show me where to put the decals on the 1974 Corvette that we are restoring. Can anyone give me a resource to check? Thanks.

I can't tell you about 1974, but for 1968 to 1972 most decals are shown in the AIM Assembly Instruction Manual. You will not find dimensions, but a drawing of where they are installed. To my knowledge there were no templates, so they went wherever the person applying them put them.

Edit add: The earlier C3s I referenced above had NO decals -- that is water transfer decals. All the labels were adhesive stickers. I believe 1974 is the same, but I can stand to be corrected on that point.

I'm with Terry, what decals? I had an L-48 car new in late 73 and it was devoid of extraneous decalomania embellishments, at least as much as I can rember thru the drunken fog of those years!

Kim, I used the AIM. Be sure you are selecting U.S. decals because I noticed some Canadian only decals shown. Bill

I will check the AIM book and look at some of the early "70's" cars at the Mecum auction in Indianapolis in May 2010.

Kim, are you referring to the underhood and engine stickers/labels?

Hi Kim,
Although I'm looking in my 71 AIM, there's a chance you'll find them in the same place (or close by) in your 74 AIM too.... on UPC 0, Sheet B-1, there's several diagrams and some instructions for placing some of the labels and stickers.
If you don't have the 74 AIM you should consider buying one, I think you'll find it very useful. I'd be happy to send you the page to take a look at to see what may apply to the car you're working on.
