Hand written entry on 68 tank sticker

I have both, the tank sticker and build sheet from my 68 roadster that I found under the drivers side carpet. The last option is "hand written" in blue ink.

    "Option No 02P01AA Wheel covers"

Has anyone else seen this and what does it mean?? I can e-mails pics to someone, I haven't had luck posting pics. My VIN is #320

    Thanks,
    Jim

I'm no expert on what went on in the plant back then, but I'd say the option code was added to your car after the sheet was printed. maybe a last minute customer/dealer/zone request.

Was your car built with wheel covers, as far as you know ??

Tom,I purchased the car 2 yrs ago after sitting idle for 20 plus years and it did have the P01s on the car. It also had hand written on bottom of both copies..

      RN00 with the initials JW

The other thing that is odd is my car has a set of 67 rallies.. DC codes i believe. 6in. wide, not 7in.
I removed them and going to put them on my 67.

        Thanks

Now that would seem odd. What is build date of your car ???

The area on top of my build sheet that reads "date recieved" is 07-27-68 the vin number is #320 so its a very early 68.

Maybe there is a 67 out there with your 68's wheels. Is your spare the correct for your 68?

James, maybe I'm wrong but the build sheet was produced prior to the VIN being known, so I'm not sure your looking at a build sheet.

Give it another try and post pictures of both documents.

What am I missing here??? 07-27-68 wouldn't that be near the end of the 68 model run?? If the vin is 320 it would have been built in Sept of 1967.

Just a thought; the documents you want to post are in portrait orientation (height > width). Unfortunately, this DB is quite restrictive; not only does it limit jpeg file size to 293 kb, but also demands that the limiting dimension be the lesser of or equal to 800 (wide) and 600 (high).

I don't know if this is the problem but it took me a while to figure it out.

                          Jim -

Any time a change or substitution was made to the specs on the original order after the car's paperwork was printed (which was before the VIN was assigned), you'll find the hand-written "RN number" and intials; that revision authorized the change and corrected the plant's inventory records to recognize the material change.

You've got a good point there with the dates.. i guess I dont understand what that "recieved date means" I was thinking it was July of 67.. and vin is 00320..
The other entry next to it is "exp date of prod. 09-29-67"
