    C2 Inside Door Painted?

Was the inside of the doors painted body color. When looking down inside a door at the window tracks was the inside painted or was it bare fiberglass. Would it have been blacked out on light colored cars.

The inside of the doors were not actually painted, just oversprayed from the edging.
Note the absence of color in the center of the Tim's door.

            Good Pictures, thanks.
The area I am asking about is where the duct tape is in Pat Tighe's Picture.
Looking at other cars with light color paints such as white and yellow the inside of the door looks dark almost like it was painted with blackout. OR is is just dirty.

Hey Ralph, it's just dirty. Before I had my car painted, all the old paint was completely removed, along with all the inside door hardware and glass. I looked down in there and it sure was dirty. You will notice there are drain holes at the bottom of the door.

So a couple weeks before my car went to the painter, I flushed the insides of each of the doors with carb cleaner. Man, the crap that drained out the bottom holes was black liquid. Remember, that's over 40 years of dirt. I wouldn't try this on a car with new paint though. It probably didn't make the car go any faster but I know it's clean inside!

                Ralph -

The natural color of most '67 fiberglass panels was dark grayish-black; that's what you see inside the door.

Ralph, here is a better picture of the same door I posted above. As John said, dark grey raw fiberglass.

Thanks so much for the pictures.

When my painter painted my car (sunfire yellow) he got a lot of over spray inside the door.
Now you can see down inside the door. I don't like it. Guess I will need remove the overspray somehow. Any suggestions?

Wonder how GM painted the doors without painting the inside?
