I found the screw plate sitting above the frame in a hand size opening, I now have it in my hand, don't want it there, does it have to go back up in the same place, were these riveted in place when they did all the panel work or is there an access to put it back in place? Thanks again, Brad.

I don't think that the holder can be rivited back into place. I would concentrate on getting the screw plate back into place. Unless you have some kind of damage in your fiberglass that allows you to get your hand into that area, the only way I see is to take the gas tank cover off. I can't get my big meathook in there on my 59, but a smaller hand may be able to. I would have to attach some kind of handle onto the plate and try to get it up there. Then hold the screw plate with a bolt without a head through one of the holes that the striker plate mounting bolts goe through. Mount the striker plate with the other two bolts. Remove the headless bolt and replace with mounting bolt.
Just remember that you can't take all of the bolts out or the plate will fall again.

I posted a similar reply to Roger's back a while. It should be in the archives.
