I have some model corvettes 1953-59. They have action printed on bottom and made in china. They are about 5 inches long. what scale are these, and how can you tell what scale by measuring them. How does one determine what scale a car is. Also does anyone know if they make or made these cars past 1959 Thanks

Re: scale model corvettes
1/32 scale Zora Duntov series. Search them on ebay and you'll see them. Released right before he died. They made one for each year. 53-93.
The valuable ones are the 84, 85, 63 to 67's and the 73.
If you bought the entire set from Action back in 96, you got a display case and a pewter special car. The set was 1000.00.Last edited by Tom H.; April 19, 2010, 06:17 PM.Tom Hendricks

arithmetic confirmation
Part of my question was not answered. if 1/32 is 5 inches long then 1/64
is 2 1/2 inches long. you can tell the scale by multiplying the length of the model by the scale (2.5 X 64 equals 160 divided by 12 is 13.3ft) which is approx length of corvette. Is this correct.( or 1/16 scale must be 10 " long (16X10" equals the same 160) which is the length in inches of a vette. Do I have the arithmetic correct. I just want to know how to determine the length of the model if someone gives the scale. Have I got the arithmetic right?- Top

Re: scale model corvettes
Hi Don,
I checked my 1/24 scale 71 promo and it's 7 1/4" long bumper to bumper. The 1/1 overall length is listed as 182.5" in the owner's manual.
Hope that helps you with your scale/inch relationship.
