It appears to be a non-oem version of a BFG 7.75X15 from the late 60's

Semantics...Isnt B.F. Goodrich an Original Equipment Manufacturer OEM?

Are you saying the "Commander" line was not o.e. for any factory production?

How can you date it to the late 60s?

Can't speak for all Manufacturers, but not used on Corvette production.

Because it doesn't have "DOT" molded in ahead of the TIN (Tire Identification Number); that started in 1968.
