    Factory side exhaust

Now that i have top flighted my 65 327 365 i want to convert it to side exhaust and plan on a kit from allens with the 2 1/4 inside dia pipes,I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me on this. i will probably keep all of the original parts from the underneath system and just bend the rocker panel brackets to clear the side exhaust mufflers, so it could be put back some day in the future. does anyone have the 2 1/4 and how do you like the deeper tone of them.

I suggest you look at these:

    Scroll down to "Vettepacks"

I have Hedman sidepipe Hedders feeding the 2.5 x 3.5 Vettepacks on my 327/365. They are a small bit louder than stock, but with a deeper tone. There is no rattling or tinny resonance with these, as with the flimsy GM mufflers. They are very heavy gauge, are well constructed and fully aluminized. They require fabrication to your headers/manifolds, which can be done at any good muffler shop. I recommend that you request the fabricator to use aluminized, fully mandrel bent pipe.
