1960 Fan and shroud clearance
I've just completed installing the correct pulleys, etc. for my 60 to get the fan belt alignment correct. I've also finally added the two lower fan shroud pieces that have been missing for many years. I'm trying to determine if the spacing between the fan blade and fan shroud is correct. I'm assuming that I have the correct fan and spacer, but that is based upon looking at other C1 fans.
My fan is positioned just slightly into the fan shroud area. At the bottom two shroud panels the gap between the fan blades and the shroud is pretty close. Approximately the thickness of a fingertip.
Does that sound correct? I guess that any clearance should be enough clearance, but was concerned that when I rev the engine the torque might move the blade into the shroud. I'll probably find out tomorrow when I compete the hose installation and fire it back up.
Any input anyone has will be greatly appreciated.
