    Air cleaner base?

    I have cleaned and painted the base of the air cleaner on my base engine. I have used rust- oleum semi-gloss. What should the final paint be? My judging manual does not address this so I am asking in advance.I am thining it should be gloss black? Tom

      You don't mention the year, but if you're talking about a 1966-72, the air cleaner bases were gloss black----probably one of the glossiest blacks used anywhere on the car.

          Sorry about that, it is a 65 250h.p. base engine car. I thought it would be gloss black but not sure. Thanks Tom

              Your 1965 application is also gloss black.
