Chrome Scrathes etc.

Door posts have some minor scratches top to bottom, also outside window garnish, what polishes will take these out without making more scrathes, and what type of wheel to use,( mothers small red ball?) Do not want to jump into this without knowing and make it worse, what does reeeally work? Thanks, Brad.

Be VERY careful trying to "polish-out" scratches in chrome; the clear chrome layer is less than half a thousandth of an inch thick, and if you polish through it, you'll expose the nickel layer underneath it, which then shows as dull and will oxidize. It's easy to ruin chrome with "polishes", as they contain abrasives.

Can't really comment on stainless scratches, but my experience with scratches on chrome is that there isn't much that can be done to really remove them successfully without making it look worse than it already is.
