    1968 Spare Tire

    Hello everyone,
Question, If you ordered the red line tires in 68 was the spare a red line ? White line , White line spare ? Or was it the blackwall Firestone for all vehicles no matter what tire was on the new vehicle ? Thanks in advance, Jeff Pollard

I want to add to Jeff's question,
if you ordered RPO PU9 in 69 , did the spare match the other 4 tires on the ground
100% of the time ? with Raised white letters, or did they change brands of RWL tires, i e , Firestone, Goodyear, Uniroyal ?

    thanks Tom

      Re: 1968 Spare Tire

All five tires matched (or were supposed to) on factory original cars from the era (Mfgr, Model, Configuration).

It's only NCRS policy to allow the spare tire to deviate from the four road mounted tires during Flight Judging. That's to preserve an unused or low mileage correct factory original tire that might have 'hidden' all these years...

Thank you Jack and Tom.One last question for now. I was told by another judge that there is a Bias tire made for 68's now by one of the vintage tire co s that will have no deductions taken off it. Do you know what co that is ? thank you, Jeff
