1957 aluminum intake manifold bolt torque

Can anyone tell me the correct torque on the 2x4 aluminum intake manifold bolts? I cannot find it anywhere in the ST-12 manual. The 1957 Chev passenger car manual only states 25-35 ft. lbs. for the cast iron intake manifold bolts.

    Art, from 11/13 & 14/09 posts:

    Hello,
My books are conflicting on torque specs for the 2x4 aluminum intake manifold, which shows 20-25 lbs. Seems kind of too much for an aluminum manifold to me, is the sequence to tighten the bolts the same as the cast iron one? Any information appreciated...thanks.

20-25 is correct and no difference in procedure then cast iron manifold.

Thanks. My reason for asking is that I have a small antifreeze deposit at the manifold at the front right corner. It occurs after a drive. It is right where the temp sender is located, but it is not coming from that. Hard to get a torque wrench on those two front right bolts.

Art, there are other comments answering that post about wrenches, the end bolts, etc. I use an open end on my 653 manifold, go through the sequence and I am most careful of the end bolts as those ears are most likely to fracture.
