    Charlotte Car Show Pictures?

Did anyone out there take pictures at the Charlotte Show this last weekend? My son lives there and called yesterday afternoon to say that he thinks he saw my '56 Arctic Blue cruising down the highway. (Background: I sold my TF, BG, TC '56 to a great guy in Columbia, SC 2 1/2 years ago). Would love to see if someone happened to snap a picture of my old car.
    Thanks.

    Garry,

    I was there with my '63 Roadster. Only C1 was a '54.

Thanks Chuck. Too bad. I had my hopes up that the guy was actually out driving it and showing it. Thanks again,

There were 2 red 60s, a black 56, a black resto mod 57, a blue 59, a red 58, a white 61, and a black 62. There may have been more that I missed, but those were all of the C1's that I remember. No blue 56.

This was on Saturday, some of the cars changed each day.

Other than the single owners and sellers, most of the cars for show belonged to the Queen City Corvette Club of Charlotte and the Southern Corvette Club of Concord.

I did'nt take my camera because I had enough stuff to lug around.

The show that I was referring to was the AACA National Meet on Saturday, 1 day only event. This show was sponsored by the AACA Hornet Region Chapter and was Nationally judged. The AACA Hornet Region also puts on the Autofair.

            Chuck:

Where was this show. There were a lot of things going on inside the speedway, and there was something going on at the drag strip as well.

It was at the SouthEastern side of the complex, outside the speedway itself, right near the water tower. The show was Saturday only 7:00AM-3:00PM.

                Chuck;

Rats. I did'nt know it was there. I would have liked to have seen your car, as well as met you. I walked for six hours at a brisk pace and only saw the car corral and 1/2 of the infield vendors. I went out the back way when I left and noticed that the were more vendors outside the track in the northeast camping area. I wish I could have seen them too.

For those who were'nt there, the car corral went all of the way around the track with cars parked side by side in two rows. From the exit of turn two down the back stretch and from the entrance to turn four down the front stretch the cars were in three rows. By a quick and dirty calculation, that's over 2000 cars for sale, not including all of the cars that the vendors had in the infield.

The most notable thing to me about this year's spring event was the empty vendor slots in the infield. Fewer vendors than in past years. There were several Corvette parts scattered around among several vendors, but I only found two serious used Corvette part vendors. There were also a lot more people there than I remember seeing in the past.

Hey you guys! I was there at Lowes for the Spring Auto Fair and won Best of Show for the Metrolina Corvettes and was in line for the 50 "Best of the Best" but did not win. It was still sweet to be there in winner's row.

Paul, I would have liked to meet you but did not know you would be there.

My car was the only C1 for the Spring auto fair in the final judging.

There were pictures taken in winner's row but I do not have them yet. I'm sure these are not the pictures you are interested in seeing.

I did see the Corvettes lined up outside the track on my way in Sat am. Wish I could have run by there but had a car (64 Impala SS convertible) for sale in the car corral. No luck there so I should have just gone out and enjoyed everything! Weather was great!

Not a Corvette, but what make was the high wheeler? I think it is an IHC Autobuggy, about 1909-1912

                          It is an '09 IHC.

Thanks. I am glad I was not there, I might have made a foolish offer on it. My first restoration was helping with an '11 Autowagon MA, basically the same vehicle as the '09, but with just one seat and a bed for carrying things on the back. Dang, that was well over 50 years ago.

There was a Horizon Blue with white coves 1960 there with Queen City Corvettes that your son might have seen. The owners name is Steve and he stopped and stayed with me on I - 29/49 when I ran out of gas in my Red/white 1960 until my husband arrived with rescue gas.

That was the only blue/white C1 I saw at the auto fair.

I saw only 3 C1 Corvettes there which include my own beloved.
