Thermostat housing 6057606

I have a cast housing that is very close to a 660 aluminum housing. With only the numbers 6057606 on the underside of the neck. Was this used or is it a replacement.

I'd say it's an aftermarket replacement of some sort. The number is not a GM number that I've ever seen or am aware of.

The GM #3877660 thermostat housing was used in HUGE quantities for a LOT of years. So, there were and are many aftermarket replacements out there to "fill the need" for SERVICE pieces.

The GM #3877660 was actually made in several slightly different, but equally functional, configurations over the years of its availability from GM. It's no longer available from GM, however, even though it was used for literally MILLIONS of cars and trucks. A replacement is available from Delco, but it's just an aftermarket piece in a Delco box. 100% functional, but not many folks in the know would mistake it for an original.
