Re: Picture request - 67 heater box sealant
To a place where things are green, and the people are friendly and respectful to the elderly; where live oaks, wildflowers, deer, birds and even coyotes abound; a place where city-dwellers that still work for a living can only dream of living...God's own country...The Texas Hill Country. (Run up the Lone Star flag, boys, to strains of "Texas, Our Texas"
).
We're about 40 miles up TX Hwy 71 from Austin, which is proud to be "Wierd". It's a fun town for young and old people; there's something going on every week.
We recently missed a great opportunity to get together with the Austin/San Antonio division of the Texas chapter. Unfortunately, we had already committed to another activity that weekend, but there will be other opportunities, I'm sure.- Top

Re: Picture request - 67 heater box sealant
Chris,
Don't put "roofing goop" on your car!!!! Who knows how that will react with your firewall and other nearby components? You don't need that S**t!!! Take the one point hit if it comes down to that. If you think that single point is the difference between Top Flight and Second Flight, if it's gonna be that close, you've got bigger problems than not having goop around your heater box. If you really need to satisfy your desire to make a mess, get out a tube of the appropriate (NCRS 1967 manual approved) grease and apply a little to your door hinges. Leave the "black goop" alone.

Re: Picture request - 67 heater box sealant
Jim, at this point I'm creating a margin of error for myself in Flight Judging. I'm getting other parts of the car THAT much closer to perfect such that if something Ops-related fails, I have a cushion before falling below a 97%. (yeah yeah, I know, Top Flight is 94%, but I'm headed higher than that)
But on this point, I'm going to leave the "goop" off the car.Chris Enstrom
